Traffic Law 

I have a broad experience in traffic related law.  Prior to becoming a lawyer and barrister I spent 15 years within Victoria Police where I qualified as a breath test operator (drink driving) and radar speed detection.  As a barrister I routinely represent clients for matters such as:

  • Drink driving

  • Drug driving

  • Drive whilst suspended / disqualified

  • Careless and Dangerous driving

 

​I don't take enquiries regarding penalty notices or infringement notices.  I focus on matters already before the court where you have been charged by police.

Criminal Law

Intervention Orders

I have extensive experience in representing clients facing intervention orders.  There is often an interaction with family law and criminal law.  It is important to understand how decisions made here can affect your prospects of success in obtaining orders for time with children.  It is important to speak to me early to determine whether a solicitor is needed to assist in your case.  These matters usually involve a process of a mention hearing, directions hearing and then a contested hearing.  Early legal advice can lead to speedier resolutions and negotiated outcomes without the expense of a contested hearing.  It can lead to better prepared contested hearings that have a better chance of success.

Family Law

As a Family Law Barrister, I regularly appear in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia to represent clients in the division of their matrimonial assets as well as to determine how time is spent with children.  I am also a qualified mediator.  This area of law requires the teamwork of a solicitor and barrister.  I am able to appear in court on your behalf and work with your solicitor to achieve strong outcomes in your case.
